"The LifeScan division of J&J is committed to building the individual and team capability of our HR Businesses Partners using the techniques and principles of the Art of Convening.  We designed together an effective blended-learning approach to facilitate techniques virtually and face to face, building a foundation for a stronger community through shared experience and language.  We exceeded our initial objectives and outcomes in this truly collaborative environment where people are working and learning together.  Thank you for a brilliant program."

ORGANIZATIONAL TRAINING

Bring the Art of Convening (AoC) to your company, organization or group.

Would you and others in your company or organization like to change or deepen your communication in your personal or professional relationships? Do you (and they) host, lead or facilitate groups or meetings?
  • The AoCs were developed in 2004 as a training program for leaders who host, convene or facilitate groups, gatherings or meetings, and are called to be that inspired catalyst for change in their organization.
  • Over 250 organizational leaders have enrolled in four distinct training programs. Participants report increased trust, creativity and innovation for themselves and their teams.
  • The AoC Organizational Trainings were developed in response to our participants who identified a need inside their organizations, companies and other groups for the skills and practices that the AoC training instills.
  • The Art of Convening: 9 Ways to Transform Your Conversations and Meetings™ book (2009) forms the contextual foundation of the trainings, outlining the principles and practices to transform your meetings into their highest potential.
Organizational Trainings
up to 20 participants

Convening is different from facilitation. By definition, facilitation is "the process of making things easy or easier." Conveners invite participants to co-create the highest possible outcome for a meeting or gathering.

PROGRAM OPTIONS

"Thank you for the Art of Convening Training.  For two years I have been anticipating the beginning of a series of sessions that began yesterday with a group of nursing staff.  Getting my head/heart aligned through the AoC practices was the most essential prep activity I needed to do.  Thanks for helping me remember!  We are off to a good start; the next 5 sessions should flow nicely.  We spent valuable time on presence, affirmation, agreements from the AoC Training and I know it made a difference.

I have learned a tremendous amount about listening and how to have productive, meaningful conversations. I attribute much of the positive change in my attitude, perspective and approach to learnings from this course and just our dialogue in general. The sessions provide an opportunity to connect with my colleagues and peers so I feel like part of a larger community – like we are all in this together; they provide a safe space to share and reflect; and they provide tools and skills that support my personal development which I can apply in our business environment. I have learned a tremendous amount about listening and how to have productive, meaningful conversations. As a communications professional I would have thought I was better at this naturally. But if I have a lot to learn than I imagine others might find these skills and learnings useful as well.

The AoC program provides the ability to interact with others and to receive coaching on how to strengthen our relationships by deepening the conversation in any type of environment. Professionally it’s extremely challenging to take the time to absorb the changes and critically think about what is occurring in our lives. The AoC program provides the ability to interact with others and to receive coaching on how to strengthen our relationships by deepening the conversation in any type of environment. Throughout my 2 year involvement in AoC, I’ve learned to put me first and manage myself instead of my company dictating my professional life and how I should balance. The AoC training is a very unique method of learning. What works best for me is utilizing the guiding principles via the wheel and learning from others experiences in the forum to make it practical .
