20 years ago, Michael, one of the country’s top social change activists, had a pioneering vision of the power of how capitalism could actually create social change to build brands.  Over the years, he has worked with the biggest brands to create quantified social change that has led to quantified business results.
 
EFFECT Marketing™ is where social change is created to build a brand and is quickly becoming a standard in business.  For example, Michael worked with Ben & Jerry’s to create the Ben & Jerry’s Dave Matthews Band “One Sweet Whirled” Lick Global Warming flavor that started the movement of positioning a brand as the campaign and a campaign as a brand.  
 
Highlights of Michael’s and Effect’s unique Effect Marketing™  programs and campaigns include:
  • Working with leading brands such as P&G, General Mills and Clorox to create effect Marketing Campaigns to help them effectively take the next big step in sustainability.
  • Named international sustainability advisor for the Live Nation/U2 tour, the largest tour in history.
  • Developed the “Enviro Rider” guide to sustainable touring that has become the bible for green music touring and the business standard in music today.
  • Creator of the Black Eyed Peas “Rethink Campaign” with Green For All, League of Conservation Voters, and ReThink Fabrics.   
  • Helping James Cameron leverage environmental impact of “Avatar.”
  • Creator of the Go Organic! For Earth Day Campaign for the Organic Trade Association and the Organic and Natural Experience (ONE) mobile tour.
  • Campaign Director and advisor for Jack Johnson and his sustainability work, All At Once.
  • Helped create and sits on the board of Climate Counts, the influential non-profit that rates corporations contributions to global warming.
  • Working with the current administration on several different sustainability initiatives
